The winner of our Travel Wedding Contest is Kelle Jolle!
Here is her heartwarming story:
In 2008, we were planning our wedding in Knoxville, TN. The stress of planning a wedding was weighing me down when out of the blue, we received an invitation to perform at the Muroran Jazz Cruise. We replied and said that we could not afford to plan a wedding and travel overseas. But then we received an email with an offer to marry in Muroran, Japan before the festival. Agreeing would mean that our family and friends in the US would not be there. We both felt like our wedding should represent how we love, and how we live. So it felt like the right thing to do. We stepped out of the way of fate and traveled to Muroran for our wedding. The Mayor and the Minister officiated. All of our Hokkaido friends were there. Thirty adorable kindergarteners carried bouquets of flowers for us. And the ceremony was broadcast live over the radio. To close one the most special days of our lives, they hosted a 7-course, French cuisine dinner reception, for about 150 people. We had to bring gifts for all of the volunteers and sponsors who made our wedding day magical. So we recorded an album of original musical entitled, DREAMS OF MURORAN and dedicated it to the people of Muroran. It’s the soundtrack of our lives together.
