Deciding on a Major

One of the toughest decisions to make going into post secondary school is deciding what major to pursue in college. For some people, the choice may be easy. However for the vast majority of people, it requires conducting an abundance of research.

Sometimes it requires taking a few classes in each major to decide what you excel in. If you think business is your forte, maybe take an accounting course. Or if the medical field interests you, take a course or two in human anatomy. There is no right or wrong way to approach the dilemma. It is always a good idea to reach out to people already in the professional world and ask them about their job. It is also a good idea to declare your major before you enter your junior year. This way, you will be on the right path to getting your degree. It is never a bad idea to look at minoring in a subject in addition to your major. Doing this brings more knowledge to the table when seeking employment.
