A Guilt Free Holiday Treat – It’s Actually GOOD For You!

A Healthier Hot Cocoa

n order to leave a legacy we need to stay healthy, happy and productive. Recently we have been trying new exercises, changing our eating habits and staying positive to increase our longevity and just become generally healthier!

It’s getting tough as the holidays creep in with temptation and a tease of tasty treats. Here is one recipe we found to be delicious and a much healthier alternative to the typical Hot Cocoa! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

This Healthy Hot Cocoa recipe includes 4 super foods, but if you don’t have all the ingredients it will still be great with a few substitutions.

We’ve followed up with a little information about the benefits of these super foods so you can see why this treat goes from the naughty to the nice list.


Serves 2

  • 2 cups almond milk, coconut milk or

  • 2 Tbsp. (heaping) raw cacao (no cacao? you can use unsweetened cocoa! It’s still a step in the right direction)

  • 1 Tbsp. raw honey (you can substitute honey with maple syrup)

  • 1 Tbsp. coconut oil

  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

  • ½ tsp. maca powder (you can skip the maca and save it for the next cup!)


Feeling adventurous?

Add another Super Food with a pinch of Cayenne


Heat the “milk” on the stovetop, to just under a boil and then add all the ingredients to your blender and blend for a minute. It’s really that easy.
